COME WORSHIP WITH US!
Holy Eucharist ~ Sundays at 8:00 am and 10:00 am with Choir
St. Stephen's Episcopal Church 351 Main Street Ridgefield, CT 06877 203.438.3789
St. Stephen's has something for children every week! Nurseries are available every Sunday from 7:45-11:45 am. Birth to 23 months across from the kitchen in North Hall and ages 2-3 have a church school class in the Nursery School (lower level of North Hall)
Holy Week at St. Stephen’s
Entering into the Mystery of Christ’s passion, death and resurrection through worship. The wonder of Holy Week is that we are able to walk through the last week of Jesus’ life at the same pace that he walked through it.
April 13- Palm Sunday, 8am and 10am
We raise our palms high shouting “Hosanna! Blessed is the One who comes in the name of the Lord!” as Jesus enters into Jerusalem.
April 17- Maundy Thursday, 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary
We go to the Last Supper where Jesus washes his disciples’ feet and shares the holy meal with them. It is at the end of that meal that Judas starts the process of Jesus’ betrayal.
9 pm Thursday-7 am Friday in the sanctuary. We go to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus prays all night. We manage to “stay awake for one hour.”
April 18 - Good Friday
Children’s Program 10:00 am—12:00 pm
Good Friday Services, 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary
We go to the trial and witness the crucifixion.
April 19– The Easter Vigil, 7:30 pm
We recognize the quietness of this day. At sundown, we begin the first service of Easter. The light of Christ pierces the darkness of the tomb. A reception celebrating the Resurrection follows in North Hall.
April 20 - Easter Sunday Morning Prayer, 6:30 am
Festival Eucharist at 9 am and 11 am
We go to the empty tomb. He is RISEN! This is good news to proclaim!!
*Please note: The Ridgefield Clergy Association has decided not to hold the Community Good Friday Service this year.
